This is not ranking, but these are my favorite films from 2022. Some of them have soft corners because those are my favorite director or actor. But overall all of them are finely crafted as considered by me.

BATMAN: Robert Pattinson proved that he is more than a vampire and also proved wrong all of those who criticized him for not being able to play Batman.
THE FABELMANS: Steven Spielberg’s once again in the coming-of-age genre and time he gets more personal. His own autobiography. His childhood and adulthood romance with movies and cameras. For me, this one is his late-period masterwork.
AVATAR: THE WAY OF WATER: Thirteen-year wait for this sequel is enough for this.
TOP GUN: MAVERICK: Tom Cruise.
DECISION TO LEAVE: Contemporary noir. Detective story by eastern filmmaker Park Chan-Wook. Highlighted in significant film festivals last year.
GILMORO DEL TORO’S PINOCCHIO: A reimagined classic tale by Mexican film director Gimoro Del Toro.
THE NORTHMAN: Medieval age revenge thriller from auteur-director Robert Eggers who has unique patterning in his visual storytelling.
NOPE: Director Jordan Peele continues his horror fiction genre after “Get Out” with the addition of neo-Western science fiction touch.
ALL QUIET ON THE WESTERN FRONT: Based on the literary classic which has been adapted on screen before many times but this one is way more different from previous ones—a good cinematic experience.
APOLLO 10 ½: A SPACE AGE CHILDHOOD: Just because I’m a huge fan of Richard Linklater. A coming-of-age film. As usual, Linklater reuses his visual and thematic ingredients in a deeply personal and freshly inspired way.
RRR: From SS Rajmouli’s own cinematic universe. His interplay between the contemporary and mythological periods. Like previously he did a couple of times. I think this is the true contender for Oscar from India.
KNIVES OUT : GLASS ONION: Sequel of Knives Out mystery franchise. Led by Daniel Craige who played the detective.
AMSTERDAM: A Christian Bell movie.
THE BANSHEES OF INISHERIN: The dark comedy about friends in 1920s Ireland.
THOR: LOVE AND THUNDER: Again for one of my favorite directors Taika Waititi who gave a different type of aesthetic to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
